So Very Grateful!

Dear Volunteer,
We are so happy to share that our Dec. 6 party was so filled with overwhelming goodness!
First of all, thank You God for clearing the clouds of what CNN called the worst typhoon of the
year to hit the Philippines and made it sunny and perfect for the party to push through!!!
(Nothing short of a miracle!)
Thank you very much to Barangay Captain Ricky Corpuz and staff of Barangay Bungad for always accommodating us at the venue!  We can never thank you enough for allowing us to teach the children and celebrate there!

Thank you ever so much Tutor's Team for planning and conceptualizing the event!  Special thanks to  Joey Dulalia, Diony, Jason Bangayan, Armand Eustaquio, you guys are just the best!  Thank you Joey for the sound system, community mirror dancing and for always being there to lead the prayers.  Jason thanks for getting all the food packs as well as for finding the inspiring videos!  Diony thanks for the Bottle Relay game!   Armand thank you for coordinating for the food stuff to bring these to Ate Winnie!  Of course thanks too to hardworking gals Ma Annjanet Shannon Capati, Malou Bautista!  Thanks Shannon for preparing the human bingo game!

Make Your Mark on November 15

Greetings Volunteer,

Good news!  More students reached now more than ever!  The UP Broadcasters Guild organization conducted their second tutoring session for around 20 He Cares foundation students yesterday, Nov. 8, 2024.  Our efforts are being multiplied thanks to their help!

Come this Saturday?
We will need 15 more volunteers.

You don't have to be a whiz at Math and English, we just need you to listen to the children and to help them read books (provided) and maybe understand their lessons (if you need assistance, other tutors may be asked).  Don't be apprehensive about forgetting the basics from gradeschool, we've forgotten too.  It's a team and we help each other remember.  What's most important is that these children make a friend who encourages them to go on.
Just an hour to encourage them that learning can be enjoyable (or that it is possible to understand) is more than enough. Seeing people who care is enough.
Please join us on:
Nov. 15, 2014 (Saturday)
1 to 3 pm
1st or 3rd floor, Brgy. Bungad
*near Baler St. and West Ave. QC

*PLEASE ask for directions before Saturday because sometimes, we are already doing the orientation and some volunteers are lost because we are already busy and were not able to answer the calls.
THINGS TO BRING:
- bring water, you might get thirsty!
- snacks to share with kids and volunteers (optional)
- ballpen and scratch paper
- just some enthusiasm!!!
OPTIONAL: If you have wifi that would help a lot for questions we can't
answer but someone else's can be borrowed in case you don't have :)

This Saturday is coming and we pray that:
1. We will have a good attendance of both volunteers and children.
2. That that children will be able to enjoy the session and be better at school.
3. That the volunteers will enjoy their session with the children.

Here are the latest schedules for future sessions.
(1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month)
November 15 (possibly another on 29)
December 6 (christmas party)

Schedule:
1-1:30 pm is for First timers orientation, asking questions
and setting up the venue (arranging chairs, putting books and materials
        on the tables etc)
1:30 or 2 to 3 pm tutoring proper
*when the volunteers come earlier,we can start tutoring earlier

*PLEASE ask for directions before Saturday because sometimes, we are
already doing the orientation and some volunteers are lost because we
are already busy and were not able to answer the calls.

If you cannot be there but want to help, we need:
+ offer to photocopy exercise sheets
+ lesson plans / activity sheets (grades 1 to 6)
+ urgent need: filing cabinet or locked cabinet for the books

This Saturday is coming and we pray that:
1. We will have a good attendance of both volunteers and children.
2. That that children will be able to learn and excel in school.
3. That the tutors will enjoy their session with the children and take home wonderful memories.

We are calling for more volunteers!  Everyone is invited.  You don't have to be a tutor.  You just need to have a heart of compassion for these young ones.  What will we teach?  Primarily English and Math.  If you are able to teach other subjects that is great but we don't require professional tutors.  What we need are people who are encouraging and positive for the children to emulate.

How?  Come and the children will ask you about their homework or you can tell them a story or do some simple arithmetic with them.

Please consider coming.  When we lack tutors, we cannot give the attention they badly need since we have to tutor 2 or 3 or 4 students at a time.  We aim to have one child to one tutor.  If you have more questions please feel free to contact us.  Please confirm if you are coming so we can assign you a child to Shannon at shannon_capati@yahoo.com
Lastly do tell us if you are coming!!!  Sometimes there are last minute changes with the venue so we need your confirmation.

Blessings!

P.S.  If you cannot come this Saturday, please come next time!

*Please feel free to pass this invitation to anyone who may be interested to join us!

Oct 18 Be Happy!

Greetings Volunteer,

We had a great comeback last Saturday!  We actually had 2 simultaneous sessions!  One at Brgy. Bungad and one at the He Cares Foundation spearheaded by UP Broadguild!!!

Our dream of finally multiplying our efforts is being slowly realized.  We hope that this will continue to push through.

We had a good number of children and volunteers!!!  Everyone had a lot of fun too!  We even got to organize the worksheets and books in the filing cabinet.  Here are some
pics from last week.

Come this Saturday?

We will need 10 more volunteers.  We already have 5 so confirm now to be counted!  And
to be informed of any last minute announcements.

Sept 20 What You Do is Never Wasted

Greetings Volunteer,

Did you miss tutoring?  We did!

The remaining August session was cancelled to give way to anniversary festivities.

But last Sept 6 we had a lot of volunteers from the Mitsuba Philippines Corporation.
Their company holds quarterly social action events but they told me that this was the first time
they actually interacted with the recipients of their generosity.  They found it a lot of fun
and hope they could come back some day.

FYI.  This Saturday I won't be there as I will be out of town with the family BUT the point
person for that session is Shannon.  You can contact her at Cel 0917-835-4511
