Feb 7 - You're needed for sure - for a Brighter Future!

Greetings Volunteer,

The children were raising their hands, they were calling for attention, they were screaming with delight!  What was happening?  We had a game on prepositions!
It was such fun to see the children enjoying themselves while they learn!  They traded their afternoon loitering on the streets for a time to be with their ates and kuyas and studying!
English is usually their lowest grades so they need you to help them converse, find out the way to pronounce words, find out what words mean...
They need you for sure!  For a brighter future!
Come this Saturday?

We will need 25 volunteers.  Please be sure to alert me if you plan to come so
you can be informed of any last minute announcements.

You don't have to be a whiz at Math and English, we just need you to listen to the children
and to help them read books (provided) and maybe understand their lessons (if you need
assistance, other tutors may be asked).  Don't be apprehensive about forgetting the basics
from gradeschool, we've forgotten too.  It's a team and we help each other remember.
What's most important is that these children make a friend who encourages them to go on.

Just an hour to encourage them that learning can be enjoyable (or that it is possible
to understand) is more than enough. Seeing people who care is enough.

VolunTutor Scenes - 2015 January 24

Why do we always have do much fun tutoring?

In our last session, we didn't have much time to spread the word and call out for volunteers.  Despite that, they came!

Regular voluntutors included Jason, Stacey, Andrea, Ivy, Grace and her daughter, Tina and Liza.

Second timers arrived Rachelle and her 2 wonderful daughters!

New faces that came were Rozette, Jojie, Eleanor and Sheryll from Ivolunteer!

We played a game to increase everyone's proficiency in prepositions.  That was so challenging for the kids but so much fun!

Help Them Soar this January 24!

Greetings Volunteer,

We had fun seeing regular volunteers and meeting new faces last Saturday!
The children just came from a Medical Mission at the center and some of them even just had their teeth pulled but they still knew that it was important they come and experience the joy of learning!
We had just the right number of volunteers as they matched the number of children almost one is to one!
*WE ARE SORRY this e-mail comes late as we just got the approval of the foundation to tutor today.

Come this Saturday?

We will need 25 volunteers.  Please be sure to alert me if you plan to come so
